ARTX is pleased to present “The Best of Long Beach” as the inaugural exhibition for the grand reopening of the renovated 3,000-square-foot ARTX community art center. The stunning exhibit brings together 12 premier artists and showcases them in what is sure to become one of Southern California’s top art venues.
This is an expressly curated group of artists who share a special relationship with Long Beach, living and working in the city or actively involved with its arts community. “The Best of Long Beach” exhibit features 2D and 3D works of art from artists Maura Benett, Sandow Birk and Eylse Pignolet, Brian Doan, Kiel Johnson, Christopher Kuhn, Lester Monzone, Christine Nguyen, Sisavanh Phouthavong-Houghton, Denise A. Scott, Noah Thomas, Ted Twine, and Bill Viola. The exhibit is curated by Sayon Syprasoeuth, a local artist, and Michael Gibson, ARTX’s operations manager. Both curators have a close relationship to ARTX, but also have a long and deep connections to Long Beach.
The ARTX grand reopening celebration starts Saturday, October 8th from 5:30 to 9:00pm. “The Best of Long Beach” special exhibit will be on display from the grand reopening on October 8th through October 23, 2016. The Art Exchange, or ARTX, will soon unveil to the Long Beach community a stunning 3,000-square-foot gallery exhibition space. As part of the ARTX campus, the gallery, along with four art studios and a programming classroom, has been extensively renovated over the past year. The grand opening of the ARTX campus is scheduled for Saturday, October 8th. The ARTX gallery is located at 356 E. 3rd St. in downtown Long Beach.
