SALVAGE: Marine, Terrestrial and Astral January 13th – February 23rd, 2018
Opening reception: Saturday, January 13, 3-9 pm
The Art Exchange is pleased to present Salvage: Marine, Terrestrial and Astral, a project by Renee Tanner. Acknowledging a world reckoning with the erosion of the environment and civility, twelve women artists make calculated visual responses by means of abstraction, aesthetic tools and reuse of material. This collection of artists in varying stages in their career, demonstrate technical expertise and creativity in their renewal of discarded materials. The artworks and installations are an exhibit of informed and deliberate work hinged on an incentive of betterment. By featuring artists working with an array of unique mediums, Salvage elicits an insightful curiosity to inspire change.
Salvage features the work of Anna Bae, Jennifer Celio, Chenhung Chen, Connie DK Lane, Emily Maddigan, Mariana Nelson, Hillary Norcliffe, Cat Chui Phillips, Katie Stubblefield, J. Renee Tanner, Sydney Walters and Tracey Weiss.
